Mark R. Bonnell, MD, is a 1998-graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His postgraduate training includes his internship and general surgery residency served at the University of Florida College of Medicine at Gainesville, where he also served as Chief Resident in 2004 and was a cardiothoracic surgery research fellow from 2001 until 2002. Dr. Bonnell conducted his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City Utah (2004-2006) and his mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant fellowship at Utah Artificial Heart Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah (2006-2007). He completed his undergraduate education at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, in 1993. Dr. Bonnell attained board certification in general surgery from the American Board of Surgery and board-certification in cardiothoracic surgery from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
